Circulating ToolsRun as part of the main wellbore clean-up as well as on upper well clean-up runs, these tools provide alternative flowpaths to permit faster flowrates at critical points in the well. The pressure relief realized when the tools are opened means that fluid flow can be boosted in order that debris and swarf can be circulated out of the wellbore. Some tools are used in the drilling application (eg Centurion Circulating Valve) while others are weight-set (MFCT) and used in the WBCU situation. Others still are ball-drop valves which have sliding sleeves moving to open and close their circulating ports (SABS, DABS, PBS).
