Reservoir Drill-In Fluid Systems


When it’s time to enter your reservoir, no one offers a wider range of minimally damaging reservoir drill-in fluids than M-I SWACO. For instance, our PRO series includes the popular FLOPRO* NT water-base system that can easily be formulated to specific applications when completion compatibility and minimal formation damage are critical factors. For an entirely new approach to drilling into reservoirs, the reversible FAZEPRO* system offers the drilling efficiencies of an oil-base system and the completion ease of a water-base system. Another breakthrough technology can be seen in our DIPRO* system. It uses divalent brines as its base fluid and builds viscosity without the use of biopolymers.

Reservoir Drill-In Fluids (RDFs) are designed and engineered to drill and complete the reservoir section of a well in open hole. The fluid is designed to balance the needs of the reservoir, drilling and completion processes. It should minimize damage to the reservoir formation and avoid impeding production through the chosen completion technique.

DIPRO DIPRO is a highly engineered drilling fluid system with a wide range of flexibility and compatibility with a full gamut of well conditions and completion methods.
FAZEPRO The FAZEPRO system is the industry's only reversible reservoir drill-in fluid system that delivers the drilling performance of an invert emulsion fluid with the filtercake-removal efficiency and overall completion simplicity of a water-base mud.
FLOPRO NT M-I SWACO has worked to develop technology and a fluid system to answer the production needs of the reservoir engineer, while addressing the performance requirements of the drilling operations personnel.
NOVAPRO The synthetic NOVAPRO olefin-base drilling fluid system, designed for reservoir drilling applications, is especially suited for high-temperature, low-permeability, open-hole-completed reservoirs.
NOVATEC NOVATEC, an ultra-low-viscosity, LAO-base synthetic fluid system suited for use in deepwater operations, drilling in environmentally sensitive and high-differential pressure environments, is especially suited for cold water and ERD applications.
PARAPRO The PARAPRO paraffin-base drilling fluid system is designed as an alternative to conventional or mineral-oil reservoir drill-in fluid systems.
TRUCORE All-oil oil-base system designed for coring operations
VERSAPRO The oil-base VERSAPRO reservoir drill-in fluid is designed for drilling high-temperature, low-permeability, open-hole-completed reservoirs.
VERSAPRO LS The VERSAPRO LS system is a low-solids invert emulsion version of the VERSAPRO system. It employs CaCl2, CaBr2, NaBr, KCOOH, CeCOOH, etc. as the internal phase for density.
WARP The specially treated microparticles are your assurance of higher mud weights with lower rheologies for critical applications.
