Applications
The EPCON* CFU can be designed to fit all pipe size capacities and can easily be adapted to local conditions and requirements. The figure below illustrates typical applications of the EPCON CFU. For some of these M-I SWACO has delivered full scale units. For some of them, only tests have been performed.
The seven different applications of the EPCON CFU shown in the figure are described below:
1. Stand-alone solution; an alternative to hydrocyclone and degasser
2. Polishing unit D/S existing hydrocyclones or flotation units
3. Polishing D/S degasser
4. D/S foam separator
5. Displacement water from storage cells on gravity platforms
6. Stand-alone solution oily side of degasser and water from open drain
7. Slop water
