Among the many capabilities M-I SWACO has, there is a team of professionally qualified project, design and discipline engineers — the Project Group. This experienced, multidisciplinary team, delivers integrated packages of equipment for the treatment of drilling and completion fluids, oil- or synthetic-contaminated drill cuttings, and production and well-flowback fluids and sludge.
The sophisticated equipment packages produced by the M-I SWACO Project Group are a response to the industry’s requirement for custom-built equipment configurations. This growing need arises from tightening environmental, health and safety issues associated with the management of drilling fluids and drill-cuttings waste. Now we have combined our expertise in drilling fluids, solids control and process control to provide integrated solutions for our customers worldwide.
HMI Technology Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems are becoming increasingly common features in modern drilling installations. They can be designed to operate in stand-alone mode, or they can be integrated into the drilling-rig manufacturer’s systems. Through integration, the outputs from these systems, including alarms, are available to those involved in the drilling process: drillers, mud loggers, drilling-fluids specialists, drilling waste management and operator personnel.
