Waste Injection
The M-I SWACO Waste Injection process has proven to be an effective solution for the offshore disposal of drilled cuttings. By eliminating the need to accumulate, store and haul cuttings to shore for treatment, operators save time, labor and rig space. Some of the key factors in gaining these benefits are effective handling and preparation of cuttings before re-injection.
Slurrification is the practical, cost-effective way to process drilled cuttings for re-injection. Cuttings are collected, conditioned and mixed with seawater to form a viscous slurry ready for immediate re-injection into a downhole formation.
The system enables operators to:
- Re-inject into existing production wells
- Drill and re-inject simultaneously
- Inject into existing wells or into dedicated cuttings disposal wells
