DURALON

DURALON Synthetic Polymer

DURALON™ thermally stable synthetic polymer is used as a filtration control additive for a wide range of water-base drilling fluids, from freshwater to saturated sodium chloride systems. It also can be used in lime, gyp, seawater and KCl systems. DURALON is thermally stable up to 400°F (204°C), which is sufficient for most drilling applications. Typical concentrations range from 1 to 8 lb/bbl (2.85 to 22.8 kg/m3), depending on the temperature and the contaminants present in the system.
