CleanCut cuttings collection and transport system continues to gain steam
HOUSTON (May 05, 2008) – The M-I SWACO CleanCut* automatic cuttings collection and transport system continues to gain in popularity with the latest tally showing the technology being used on more than 582 well sections containing in excess of 1,078,348 bbl of waste with zero non-productive time.
At last count more than 100 CleanCut blowers, 300 ISO pumps, 550 R-valves and 200 weight platforms are in use across the globe.
The totally enclosed CleanCut pneumatic system is used to collect and transport drill cuttings from offshore rigs and platforms to onshore treatment and disposal facilities or central re-injection sites. In recognition of its virtual elimination of thousands of risky crane lifts per year, the US National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) in 2006 awarded CleanCut its prestigious “Safety in Seas Award.” Lifting-related incidents comprise some 20% of all accidents reported in offshore drilling operations
